Frequently Asked Questions

Fit & Care

Are your merino wool button-downs UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) rated?

Yes, the dark grounded shirts are 30-UPF and the white grounded shirts are 25-UPF. A garment with a UPF of 30 only allows 1/30th of the UV radiation falling on the surface of the garment to pass through it. In other words, it blocks 29/30ths or about 97% of the UV radiation. Tested by the Australian Radiation Protection And Nuclear Safety Agency.

How do I clean my wool shirt?

Sit back and let the wool do the work. When necessary, we recommend taking your shirt to the dry cleaners (specify that you want the shirt dry cleaned and NOT laundered) or hand washing. You can also wash your shirt on cold in the washing machine with regular laundry detergent. Don’t use bleach or fabric softeners. Don't use oxi-clean or tide-to-go pens (including bleach-free pens.) Lay flat or line dry. You may use an iron on low heat or a steamer to help smooth out any wrinkles that occur in washing.

Visit our button-up care page for more tips.

How does your clothing fit?

You can see the specific measurements for each style on the "What's my size?" link found on each product page.

What is superwashed wool and do Wool&Prince products use superwashed wool?

Superwashed wool is wool that is machine washable and, therefore, will not felt or shrink like untreated wool. Superwashed wool is made by exposing the fiber to a chlorine gas that erodes the scales and then it is coated in a plastic resin called Hercosett 125. One yard of our t-shirt fabric has .45 grams of resin, about half the weight of a raisin. The scouring mill has a EU Ecolabel Certificate and is Standard 100 by Oeko Tex.

Orders & Shipping

How do I add a gift receipt?

If you would like your order to be shipped with a packing slip without prices listed, simply select the checkbox for "gift receipt" in your shopping bag (located near the checkout button.)

How does international shipping work?

To create a better experience for our European customers, we're offering a selection of our items through our Wool&Prince Europe store. With our warehouse in the Netherlands, customers will receive their orders faster and have a better return/exchanges experience.

We ship using USPS First Class Mail and UPS Mail Innovations for a $10 flat rate on orders over $99 or Express for a $35 flat rate on orders over $99. Please allow 15 to 30 days for a USPS First Class Mail or UPS Mail Innovations shipment and 5 to 8 business days for an Express shipment. Don't be alarmed if your tracking status shows the package in customs for more than a few business days. If it's been over 10 business days and the tracking status is still showing that the package is processing in customs, please work with your local post office to expedite the process.

UK Customers: per UK regulation, we collect VAT on orders under the UK's £135 import threshold. Customers will not incur any additional duties or taxes. For orders over the £135 threshold, you may incur VAT and Duty charges by Royal Mail, the courier company, or the customs office. If you'd like to avoid Duty charges and potential shipping delays, we recommend that you split the order up into multiple orders to get under the £135 threshold.

Many other countries will charge the buyer a VAT or Duty Fee before the package can be collected. These import duty fees vary from country to country and the customer is responsible for payment on these. Please be advised that you could be charged extra fees by your customs dept. If you want to know what the duty fees will be, please contact your local customs department for the rates.

If I return a Wool&Prince item, will expedited or international shipping costs be refunded?

We offer free shipping, free exchanges in the USA for standard shipping. If you choose UPS 2nd Day Air or ship an order internationally, the shipping costs are non-refundable on returns.

Our Brand

What's the Wool&Prince guarantee?

We stand by our commitment to making better, longer-lasting apparel and we’re confident that you’ll notice the difference. If for any reason, your Wool&Prince item doesn’t meet your expectations send us an email at help@woolandprince.com and we’ll make it right.

Where does your wool come from? Do you use mulesed wool?

One of the values of our company is to do better, and we are committed to being a changemaker in the wool industry. A part of being a changemaker is to observe how certain practices are currently being carried out, and actively working to improve them. Our goal is to be part of the solution to reduce the practice of mulesing in the long-term. We currently use non-mulesed and mulesed wool in our garments. One of the sources we buy wool from is transitioning away from mulesing through the use of selective breeding and active management to control flystrike, a deadly parasitic infection. This takes time to safely suppress in a flock without the use of heavy chemicals. As a result of our work with this farm, they are committing more resources to accelerating their transition away from mulesing. By the end of 2024, all of our garments will be made from non-mulesed wool.

We stand firmly behind our policy to "do better" and are hopeful that we can be part of the solution to reduce mulesing in the long-term. We are pleased to be working toward a solution that reduces the widespread practice of mulesing in the wool industry. We believe that the health and wellbeing of sheep should be prioritized in the most humane way possible. We’re looking forward to taking you on this journey with us.

How do I become a Field Tester?

We’re always looking to feature more Field Testers. The best way to become a W&P Field Tester is to send us (or even better, tag #woolandprince in) beautiful images of you doing awesome things in our shirts. Hell, a Wool&Prince item doesn't even have to be in the picture. The more pictures you send us, the better! Once we know each other a bit more, we can talk about an official Field Tester photo shoot. Take a look at some examples.

How do I become an affiliate?

Have an online presence and dedicated followers? Consider joining the Wool&Prince affiliate program. We love to work with content creators who are passionate about living with less, travel, performance clothing and natural fibers, especially merino wool.

Our affiliate program consists of a small group of our favorite websites, blogs, and content creators that align with our mission. Only content creators that we have personally approved may join the program.

To get started, contact us at partner@woolandprince.com. Tell us about you, your website/social platforms, what you are passionate about, and why you would be a good fit with our brand. What's a Field Tester?

Field Testers blur the lines between work and play—and look pretty good doing it. We send these guys product so they can test it out before it’s available to the public. We also do a photoshoot and interview with each field tester to highlight their story. We hope their stories inspire your next adventure!

Preorders & Pricing

Can I get a price adjustment?

Full price purchases are eligible for price adjustments if the retail price is dropped within seven days of your purchase. Price adjustments are offered in the form of store credit for the difference in price. Store credit codes will not expire. Please email help@woolandprince.com if you need assistance with a price adjustment.

Do you offer discount codes, coupon codes, or have sales?

We price our products without the markup that you see at most other clothing companies. That way, you know you're getting a fair price whenever you buy from us. The only “deals” you’ll see from us are bundles on select items, retiring sectionbuy 2+ and save, and a gift with purchase in November.

How can I request a new product or feature?

You can add your request to our Feature Upvote board here!

While you are there, make sure to vote on any other features you'd like to see from Wool&Prince. We take customer feedback seriously and appreciate suggestions.

How do preorders work?

It's pretty simple, you place your order as you normally would and we ship the items per the "ships by date" on the product page. Timing shipments can be tricky. We will reach out to let you know if we're shipping late or by more than a week early.

Returns & Exchanges

Can I return underwear?

We don't accept any underwear returns/exchanges for hygienic reasons. Please check your measurements against the size guide before purchasing. We recommend ordering one pair to verify your correct size before ordering multiples.

How do I return or exchange a Wool&Prince item?

We will gladly process returns or exchanges for up to 30 days after the date of delivery for unworn garments only (trying on a garment does not preclude you from returning or exchanging).*Exchanges and returns for store credit are free, while returns for refund are subject to a $6 fee.

We've partnered with Happy Returns to provide two options for a seamless, easy return process. You can print a prepaid label at home or visit your local Happy Returns Bar to drop off your item. When dropping off at a Happy Returns bar, you will need the QR code they send you plus the barcode on the item for them to scan in. For either option, please visit returns.woolandprince.com to start your return/exchange.

Special note for Underwear: We don't accept any underwear returns/exchanges for hygienic reasons. Please check your measurements against the size guide before purchasing. We recommend ordering one pair to verify your correct size before ordering multiples.

How long does the returns and exchange process take?

Once you initiate your return at returns.woolandprince.com, your refund, exchange, or store credit will be issued within a few hours of your return scanning into the Happy Returns Bar (or delivery service, if you choose a prepaid label.)

I live in a country outside the United States and would like to make a return or exchange. How do I do it?

At this time, Wool&Prince isn’t able to provide pre-paid shipping labels or a return portal for international customers. This means that if you live outside the U.S., you’ll need to pay for your own return.

To return an international order, place the item(s) in original packaging, along with the Box Pick Ticket that came with the order. If that isn’t available, please include the order number (#12345) on a piece of paper in the box. Mail the package using your preferred carrier to our warehouse at the address below:

Wool&Prince Returns Department
Attn: #ORDER NUMBER
Wool&Prince Returns

Portland, OR 97230
United States

We will gladly process returns or exchanges for up to 30 days after the date of delivery for unworn garments only (trying on a garment does not preclude you from returning or exchanging.)

*Around the holidays, we're flexible with the 30 day deadline. If you order something around Thanksgiving and return/exchange it around Jan 1, that is totally fine.

What is the holiday return policy?

Purchases made between November 1 and December 31 have an extended return period. These purchases may still be returned either by January 10 or 30 days after delivery, whichever is later. All other terms of our standard return policy still apply.

Exchanging a gift? You will need the original order number and billing zip code of the purchaser/gifter, then visit returns.woolandprince.com.
