Have 2 other button downs in xxl from W&P and live in them. Bought this one since it’s hot a lot here. Unfortunately, this one is an inch or so smaller than my previous ones around the belly. Since there aren’t sizes for big guys, I’ll have to lose some.
What can I say? This is a great shirt. The fit, the look, the drape, the cut, the comfort, the style... great all-arounder. Love W&P!
This is my 4th W&P shirt and one of my favorites. I have a spread collar, and 2 Oxford 130GSM. I hand wash a lot of my clothes because I own a fair amount of wool garments. Never had an issue with shrinkage on any of my shirts, in fact my spread collar has been retired to a work shirt and has been washed 10x as much as any of the others. Unfortunately when I did the first hand wash on this one the shrinkage was much more than 2-3%. It pulled in across the entire torso.
Still a customer from w&P and love the products. I bit the bullet re-ordered this shirt but in a M Regular Fit. My other Slim fit 130GSM has not had the same shrinking issues.
We're so sorry to hear that your recent Wool linen button-down has experienced significant shrinkage. We'd really appreciate if you'd reach out to us at help@woolandprince.com so that we can investigate the issue further!
I really like this shirt. It's soft, comfortable, and the right weight. The main problem with all of Wool & Prince's products is the "made in china" tag. Please find ways to support manufacturers in the free world.
It's so great to hear that you're loving your button-down! We're proud to work with our partners in China, and have taken care to select partners that pay living wages and provide benefits to employees. We have great international partners and we continue to explore domestic partnerships as well. As of now, we don't have any styles made domestically, but historically we have and in the future we may again. Overall, we look for suppliers who align with with our values as a business and produce the the best quality garments at the best possible value!
My second W&P shirt. The linen softens the texture against the skin a little vs my all-wool shirt. Black is a good choice of color for travel since if you're going to wear this for several days in a row, your principal risk is the occasional food stain. So far, the shirt is still smelling fresh after several days of wear, and no noticeable wrinkles. Sleeves maybe a little long but I often wear them rolled up anyway.
