Not designed for me

First off, I really wanted these to work for me. They had the potential to be perfect. One issue though, these were not designed for me. Perfect fabric. Perfect idea. Not perfect design (at least for me). It was unreasonable for me to expect they’d fit. I tried these in two sizes hoping to just get lucky! I tried the alternative (Mazama) that was designed to fit my type of body, but it wasn’t right. The Mazama works if you’re 5’4” or want to wear crops all year around. I live in Minnesota. When I buy pants, I want them to cover my ankles. Sure, I’m taller than the average woman, but not that tall. Is it unreasonable to want pants when you’re 5’9”? So maybe this whole attempt to find a pant for me was futile. Or maybe Wool & Prince and Wool& can realize they’re missing an opportunity to sell pants for a women’s body that aren’t ankle pants. Sell these on Wool& designed for women! Please give women more than just the Mazama pant. I want true pants, please! I have enough dresses. I don’t need more skirts. Give the women some real pants! I see you can make them for men, so do it for women, too!

To those looking to fit a male body - this fabric is truly great and these deserve 5-stars for that. You’re lucky! I’m jealous you have this pant option!

Sweaty guys rejoice!

I sat down to write this review; I knew it wouldn’t be fair to the company to give 5 stars and just say “they’re great.” I purchased the pants and pique polo, adding to my collection of W&P shorts, chinos, lounge pants, boxers, t-shirts (long and short sleeve), and polos. Needless to say, I’m a fan. I have several things from Unbound, too (love my Unbound zip up hoodie) but a majority of my wool stuff is from W&P. I purchased the Unbound travel pants in khaki with high hopes. I would’ve purchased from W&P but the lack of khaki was a deal-breaker. My Unbound khaki “tights” showed up and that’s about all I have to say about that. My wife got a good kick out of my fancy man pants for a few minutes and right back to Unbound they went. I broke down and purchased the grey pants from W&P and threw them on as soon as they arrived (they’re 32” length which is 2” too long but I knew that would be an issue for the tailor when I purchased them). First task in the new pants? Clean out the BBQ grill! I was careful, but sure enough the front half of the right leg ended up covered in grease. A little Woolite for dark colors and a good hand scrub and soak in the sink did the trick; stains gone. They didn’t dry as fast as some of my other wool clothing but I noticed they are significantly more water resistant. Next test (this is where the title comes from) was the big one; would my sweaty backside show at work? I have been cursed with hyperhydrosis which is a fancy way of saying I sweat all over most of the time, especially under stress. I work a fairly stressful job and a sweaty backside in a meeting only makes it worse. Not only do the pants look good in a professional environment, breathe well and stretch like crazy, they handle sweat better than any other pants I own. Part of it I think is due to the water resistance and the other part is just the magic of wool. I’ve been wearing the pants for a little over a week straight and they have held up really well. The only change has been the fit; they were noticeably snug in the waist and thighs when they arrived and a little more loose down the rest of the leg (definitely not like the Unbound tights). Over the week or so, the waist has loosened up a bit (I’m a 30-31 waist and my 32s are getting just a bit loose…the stretch keeps them up but I definitely can’t call them snug anymore) and the thighs are noticeably looser now. No complaints from me, just an observation. Also, not good or bad, these are not soft and cozy pants like the lounge pants. They have a bit of a rough canvas-like feel, but again, that’s expected based on the description. The material is comfortable on my legs but probably wouldn’t be my first choice for a shirt. Finally, one additional surprise that probably won’t matter to most was the belt loops. Much to my surprise, the loops are large enough for a full size gun belt. Comfy range pants for the sweaty guy; what could be better?

These are indeed, the best, Merino wool pants for every day, wear!

Since my time in the military, I have enjoyed what merino wool offers. And after living a few years in Switzerland, I became accustomed to high-quality woolen ware.

What Wool and Prince has done with these pants is amazing! Perfect fit and feel and rugged warmth and chill all at the same time.

Comfortable, but questionable durability

Really love the pants: amazingly comfortable, super stretchy, but look great. Got Castlerock and they're a nice neutral mid-grey with a slight touch of blue or green, perhaps. However, BIG question mark on their durability. As a couple other reviews noted, I quickly had holes develop along the seam of the gusseted crotch — after only maybe 30 wears and perhaps two washes, and only a leisurely 15 minute bike ride, iirc. Customer service was prompt in sending a W&P gift code for the amount of the purchase, but honestly I hesitate before buying another pair without more clarity into what that manufacturing defect is and if / how it has been resolved.

A NEW kind of jean

I do not want to take these stretch jeans off! They are the most comfortable jeans I have ever owned. Great fitting. Versatile - I dress them up to go to dinner and I dress them down to go hiking. I have washed them without any problem. I quickly ordered the other color way for myself and several pairs for best my friends' birthdays.
