I purchased three Signature Crew Neck Tees on 28 Jan 2024 after loving a Signature Crew Neck Tee I bought a few years ago. When they arrived, I was surprised that the fabric felt different from the shirt I'd been wearing. These new shirts were thinner, fuzzier, were pilling after one wash, and didn't feel as premium or robust. I contacted customer service about this as an observation, not a complaint, and was informed that W&P changed fabric suppliers. I had already washed the shirts once and was unable to return them, so I decided I'd give them a try and see how the fabric broke in. It has not gone well.
This is no longer an observation. This is a complaint. I am not happy with this product, and feel cheated by the subpar quality of the goods I received.
I work from home full-time and wear t-shirts during such extreme activites as: sitting on a couch or an office chair, typing, making lunch, and the occasional video call. If I happen to be wearing one of these shirts during a grocery run, they might see some direct sunlight or heaven forbid a light breeze. I have washed them only a single digit number of times, instead opting to air them out between multiple wears. When I do wash them, I follow the care guidelines on the tag/website.
Despite this babying, they are already developing holes. If this was from normal wear and tear, I could understand. If this was on a section of the shirt that is rubbed frequently such as the the hem near my beltline, I could understand. But holes are forming on top of the shoulders, both on the fabric and the seems. These areas get no wear, no friction. I do not wear shoulder bags, backpacks, or suspenders. Nothing touches my shoulders but my shirts and air. How is it then that they are developing holes? Because the fabric is, as I mentioned before, thinner, lighter, fuzzier, and of unacceptable quality. The shirt I bought from you a few years ago has been cross country multiple times, on boats, planes, and trains. It looks as good as the day I got it. How is it that the quality has plummeted so far?
Whoever W&P's new supplier is, they suck, and W&P sucks for using their fabric. I was excited to finally have more of my favorite shirt, but W&P dashed that hope. Hope it was worth the difference in your bottom line.
