Sometimes, the best ideas aren't the new ones.

A short jacket inspired by the clean, utilitarian style worn by French workers in the late 1800s. Though it’s called a Chore Jacket, it’s equally suited for the hours you’re not working. Two patch pockets, a mid-size collar, and five horn style buttons are all that adorn the merino twill exterior. On the inside you’ll find a single chest pocket—complete with a pen slot—and a locker loop, for which to hang your chore jacket at the end of a hard day’s work.

240gsm Non-Stretch Twill

Machine wash cold with like colors,
line dry. Low iron if needed.

Very practical and attractive jacket

We like it very much. However we were very disappointed to see it was made in China, therefore the 4 star rather than 5 star rating, and will be more careful about ordering in the future.

A great layer.

I've worn it almost every day since it came in the mail. Very happy with it, and I will likely be purchasing more from Wool & Prince.

Chore Jacket

Pros: Comfortable material. Simple sleeve opening lends for casual cuffing or easy hemming. The shade of blue compliments browns, greens, greys beautifully.
Cons: Fit. Ordered XL and XXL. XL fit like a shirt in that it had a high arm hole so very little rise if arms in “T” formation. The sleeves did bite into my arms where the shoulders meet the biceps while in the driving position. Overall fit was photo nice but not live in nice. XXL fit more like a casual jacket rather than a shirt. Shoulder articulation was accommodating in all positions. However the sleeves on the XXL should have been tapered down from mid bicep to the size of the XL as well as the neck opening.
Summary: XL would’ve been perfect if it had 1-2% stretch, for the guys with larger biceps mine are 17”. As is I would recommend the XL if you normally wear a US 44 suit jacket and desire a live in but not oversized fit. I’m a 46 in suits.
The XXL would be perfect with the XL neck size and XL sleeves from mid bicep down. Since I’m not looking for a tailored look from this piece, I can forgive the larger neck and my tailor can work his magic on the sleeves so my forearms aren’t swimming in the sleeves. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Thank you for your thoughtful, detailed review! We'll take this into account for the future and appreciate your feedback.

Best jacket I’ve ever had

Always wanted to try a chore coat and finally pulled the trigger on this. SO glad I did. It’s surprisingly warm, great mid layer under a shell, and it looks so good with a collar or at shirt. I wear it tip if it gets super chilly, pop that collar and bam. Seriously this is a keeper for life.

The perfect blend of refinement and resilience

I recently received my Chore Jacket, and I was truly surprised at the fit and quality. It's not too big, nor is it too slim. It strikes the right balance, and it seems to magically toe the line between dressy and casual. I wore it to our wedding anniversary dinner with a crisp button-up shirt, selvage jeans, and some nice Chelsea boots. My wife, who rarely remarks at my getups, was pleasantly surprised. The Chore Jacket warm enough for 50-degree weather, and the pockets are well-sized but not too large. The entire design of the jacket is simple and attractive, as a result of the lack of overstyling. But that's typical Wool & Prince. Nothing is overdone or trendy, nor are their items oversized or too slim. Frankly, the price makes it a tremendous value, and the Chore Jacket will be staple in my wardrobe for decades.
