This is a fairly long term review as I’ve worn these shirts for the better part of 6-8 months. Ranging from everyday casual wear to, multi day festivals, backpacking/hiking from the sequoias to Death Valley and Zion, fishing in Alaska, you name it. These shirts are exactly as they were out of the box. Just drape them over a chair or tree branch at night and it’s good to go. No smells, no wrinkles, dog hair/cat hair doesn’t stick like cotton. Excellent heating/cooling properties. I am a wool junkie now. I don’t know why anyone wears cotton in 2022. The only time I wear cotton shirts anymore is if I’m working and I don’t care if I get paint or drywall mud etc. on it.
I have been on several week plus adventures and only usually go through 2 of these shirts. The last trip I did I pretty much changed shirts just because I brought it and wanted to show it some love too. Just do some spot cleaning if you drop something on it and hang it up at the end of the day. When I do wash it, I hand wash it with a WOOL FRIENDLY detergent, hand wring it out (gently) and dry it flat on a drying rack. Takes all of 5 minutes. I don’t hang it on a hanger to dry or otherwise, as I don’t want to stretch out the neck. Never had any issues, just as a precaution. I NEVER dry it in a machine, I always keep a very close eye on what goes into the washer and dryer.
The price. Yeah it’s expensive. It’s wool, but if you have to be dressed everyday might as well be comfortable and enjoy the many benefits of this amazing fabric. You can pack less, wash less, stink less, sunburn less, and spend less, ultimately, than buying garbage shirt after garbage shirt that breaks down and doesn’t perform near as well as these shirts. As a former active duty Marine and avid outdoorsman I know the importance of buying quality, FUNCTIONAL clothing, and these shirts are my go to whether it’s taking the kids to school or fishing for halibut in Alaska. If I had to complain about anything it would be that I wish it was all made in the US, at least it’s not china….., and wool and prince doesn’t offer military discounts. I usually try to support companies that check those boxes. That being said I have amassed a nice collection of wool and prince shirts, underwear, button downs, and they are all fantastic. Keep up the good work guys.
