WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING & FOR FUN?

I play drums in a band called Dan + Shay, manage a band called the Dear Hunter. I make art under the name EZCO. I recently wrote a screenplay. And I play soccer.

BUSY MAN. OK, SO FIRST THINGS FIRST: MUSIC. TELL US ONE BAND WE SHOULD LISTEN TO RIGHT NOW?

As of late, Bad Suns, Sam Smith, I Am the Avalanche, and The 1975.

WHAT ABOUT SOCCER?

It's been a staple in my life since I was kid. Something about the game just moves me. When it's played well, I find it poetic.

ART. WHAT’S THE DRAW?

Because of a need to say something I can't always say in words. Sometimes words don't work when you're trying to pin down a certain feeling or emotion.

IF YOU COULD HAVE DINNER WITH ANY ARTIST, WHO WOULD IT BE?

I would probably take Elvis Costello to my favorite wing place.

FAVORITE BOOK?

Jonathan Safran Foer’s Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. His style is so visual and beautiful.

MOVIE?

Adaptation

WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?

That I come from a supportive, loving family. And that I've been able to surround myself with awesome, creative people for the majority of my life. And that I've been able to call playing music my "living" for the better part of a decade.

GOT ANY MANTRAS THAT YOU LIVE BY? WE SAW “THINK FAST, EAT SLOW” ON YOUR INSTAGRAM…

That's the one!! That, and, “Work hard and be nice to people.”

5 THINGS YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT:

Spraypaint. My record collection. Pizza. My computer. A comfortable pair of jeans. A set of tools, coffee, and good food. I love to cook, so good food is paramount.

WHAT’S THE MOST ADVENTUROUS RECIPE YOU MAKE THESE DAYS?

Seafood fra Diavolo.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Plenty! Traveling. I really want to go to Europe. Hitting the road again as a hired drummer, making lots of art, and hopefully making the screenplay that I wrote into a movie. Maybe getting a few more tattoos.

Wool-Peddlers

Four buddies embarked on a cross-country journey with our rolling pop-up shop, the Wool Peddler. Starting in Brooklyn, New York and ending in Portland, Oregon, the guys visited sites across the country and took turns snapping some incredible pictures.
